Hello, my gf has a condition that requires we cook her food on a separate surface. I've used foil to grill on for her, but it isn't a great solution because it cooks more slowly (foil doesn't seem to conduct heat very well,) it holds the juices, it shields from the flames and smoke, and doesn't give grill marks or anything. I usually make chicken, steak, burgers, etc for us.
I've been searching for over an hour for something to set atop the the grill surface and give the grill experience, but will be able to be removed and washed easily. Here's what I've come up with thus far:
-
Just Grillin' Premium Cast Iron Searing Topper - don't really love that it has a circle grid instead of parallel slots like a normal grill surface.
-
Jim Beam Cast Iron Grill Topper - don't really love that it's less space-efficient.
I've been looking specifically for cast iron because I think that's what my grill grates are made of, so I assume that's what I should be using. If not, I will look into steel ones as well. In the meantime though, does anyone have any suggestions on what I should get?
