What is your method for grilling kebabs?

Basically, my wife and I are new to grilling and we just bought a new Weber charcoal grill last night and we're going to christen it with some chicken/pineapple kebabs. Do you guys normally do just direct heat, or direct/indirect? Any other method you use? Thanks for any help!
