We got a new grill and attached the regulator to the propane tank. After turning on the tank there was this loud hissing and you can feel air coming out of the edges of the silver circle piece on the end of the regulator. It also smells a bit like propane.

Is the regulator broken or is this normal? We've never used a propane grill before so we aren't sure.
